Crescent Cove's mission is to offer care and support to children and young adults with a shortened life expectancy, and their families who love them. The Crescent Cove Respite & Hospice Home for Kids is a vibrant and joyful home-away-from-home for kids with life-threatening conditions, where each moment is embraced and celebrated.
In May 2018, Crescent Cove opened the first dedicated respite and hospice home for children in Minnesota, located on Twin Lakes in Brooklyn Center, and just the third of its kind in the United States. The Crescent Cove Home has six rooms available for both respite stays (short, 1-7 day stays) and sacred, end-of-life care, and is staffed with a skilled and compassionate nursing team.
The Crescent Cove Respite & Hospice Home for Kids bridges an existing gap between home and hospital for many families facing a shortened life expectancy for their child. Our home-like environment, designed exclusively for kids and young adults, gives parents, guardians, or regular caregivers a break from the demands of continuous daily care, a chance to relax, an opportunity to reconnect on an emotional level with their child or other children, and offers a sacred place for families to gather for end-of-life care.
Our Family Services Support Program includes therapies such as massage, art, music and pet therapy, healing touch, and spiritual care, all which have shown to decrease stress and anxiety, reduce pain, provide opportunities for positive bonds and relationships, and foster overall quality of life and well-being. These same therapies and support services are provide both in families homes and at the Respite & Hospice Home for Kids. In addition, Crescent Cove provides counseling or support sessions for parents as well as our team of therapists.
All of what Crescent Cove offers is at no cost to families. Learn more and meet some of our Crescent Cove kids at CrescentCove.org.
